Uk families need double wages

A recent survey by Scottish Widows suggests that more than half of UK families need two salaries to cover the cost of bills, debts and to live comfortably. Half of the families with one or more child states that they could not cope without the 2 salaries.
A quarter of UK families have no savings because of financial pressures. According to Scottish Widows the dependency on 2 salaries is actually doubling the risk of financial problems if one person in the family is unable to work.
Scottish Widows has also worked out that the level of debt increases with the size of the family. I could have told them that before if they asked.
