HSBC goes green with new headquaters

HSBC has opened up a new environmentally friendly headquarters in Chicago, North America. The building has been engineered to help reduce the impact on the environment.Even its operating model is designed to help reduce its “carbon footprint”.

The headquarters which combines five HSBC facilities will house over 3,000 employees. Everything from the way the building has been constructed to the way the employees taking out vast recycling and energy saving methods are all aiming to be environmentally friendly.

HSBC has also incorporated a flexible working strategy called HSBC@Work. This will allow employees to work from home on a regular basis which will result in less carbon emissions due to commuting. Employees with fuel efficient or hybrids get recognition of their efforts with special parking sport being allocated to them.
