In all times and places, negotiation has take place in one form or another. From negotiating with the business man to someone painting your house.

At times, it’s simple, but mostly difficult, depending on the intensity of the situation. Below, I will mention a few tips to get you going:

• Don’t become to emotional
• Try to understand the other person
• Define your needs clearly
• Don’t argue
• Prepare well in advance
• Don’t try to win, come to a negotiation which will make both parties winners
• Take note of time

By keeping these notes in mind, although basic, can take you much closer to your goal.
