Conduct the Perfect Employee Performance Review

Most employees look forward to their Performance Review with great anticipation and want. With this inside of them, one of the worst things you, as their employer/manager can do is to conduct this review without much thought and interest. This will surey distance the employee from the company and may end up with them leaving with little interest.

I have gathered together some points which will enable you to conduct a good employee performance review.

  • Conduct everything leading up to the review with professionalism
E.g. Book out a private meeting room, time etc
  • Allow the employee to also do a self-appraisal and review in the meeting
  • Do not criticise the employee.
If they have bad points – Minor or Major (Unless of course it’s Danger) – address these indirectly. This will certainly make them improve.
  • Give the employee a chance to talk and explain
  • Plan Plan Plan
    Well before the review
