If you do not keep your car insurance policy details up to date with the correct details then this can result in invalid insurance. The worst culprits are the cheap car insurance companies, due to them adding most services on as an extra cost.

Approximately 60% of drivers in the UK make amendments to their car insurance policies mid-term which is resulting in fees of more than £300m. The average it costs to make a change to the policy costs £22. Charges can apply if you are going to change name/address, request duplicate documents or even if you want to cancel which can cost around £38 with some insurers.

Different insurers have different ways of charging customers. Some do not change for any alterations to the policies but some may have increased premiums because of this.

I personally think there is no need for insurance and believe that the person who causes the accident should be liable to pay for their stupidity. Vandals who damage cars should be allowed to be beaten with a baseball bat and finally i don’t think insurance is at all useful because when we actually put a claim through an insurance company they take years before they offer some loose change to compensate.
