It has been announced that discount store Poundland is looking to open 50 new stores in the UK which means there will be up to 2,000 new jobs for unemployed people.

Poundland currently have 263 stores in the UK and employ around 7,500 people and they have around 3 million customers visit their shops per week.

The sell items such as food, health and beauty products, cleaning products and much more and most items just cost £1 (the name sort of gives it away).

I know lots of people that go there for weekly items and they say it is the best thing that has happened to our area as it saves them a small fortune over a period of time.

Does the size of the business mean money? Many people think to themselves that when they see a business and company that employ 200 people, they are a bigger and more successful business that someone who employs 50 people.

This is not the case. You will find many examples of businesses that are very small in size but have a very high profit income and other businesses that are very large but have minimum profit!

So, it’s not about size and the number of people employed by a business or the number of offices a business has, it’s about the income and the profit!

Now is this correct? Not always.

In many case, a lot of business are very successful in the first month or so but that decreases over time and others are slow at first but catch on very quick later on!

So the best thing to do is to analyse the situation in detail before reinvesting.

There have been many large companies in the past that were so successful in the early days they had to expand massively. This did happen however once the companies reached their peak, they suddenly fell and went down like a meteor without any control!

Now, many may find this amazing and think how is such a thing possible for a very successful company?

Well, one of the many reasons is communication. Internal Business Communication to be precise.

When a company is small, then communication is not such a major issue because everyone generally is situated close by in the same office or room.

The problem occurs when businesses start to increase in size rapidly and grow at an exponential rate. When this happens, businesses and their directors are too deeply engrossed in looking at the income and the profit margins.

While looking at the margin, members of staff and employees don’t have a flow of who to contact, how to contact them, when to contact them etc. and this then starts to create major communication issues and problem between staff and clients. Day by day this starts to increase when suddenly there are major problems where no one knows how to tackle and this in turn leads to big problems with time that’s not enough to solve them.

Thus, a company comes to its knees.

If you’re are very large organisation bringing in profits of thousands of pounds and the management team consists of many members, then you need to ensure that they’re are all trained in every aspect of managing other people to the highest level, otherwise you will find that you will be losing lots of profits and will potentially bring the company down to bankruptcy.

It may not seem like it because everything seems to run smoothly however sooner or later, you will realise but then it’s too late as the damage will have already been caused.

So, the best action to take is to send Managers on Management Courses.

They will be costly and expensive however investing in expensive, quality courses are important otherwise your managers may be ruined in totality!

There are many other benefits also. Managers will be taught new tips and trick to make their jobs better and simpler.

Your company will be in more better, secure hands.

Your profits will increase in the long term.

Your company will be better organised and so growth will come naturally.

There are lots more reasons to send your managers and yourself to these management courses but these are just a few to get your brain thinking.

One big tip and advice I will share with you today.

Many a time, people have to/want to buy some item/asset for business and personal use and end with a possibility of two.

They need to choose between two items. Now, the question is, how do you determine the better of the two?

Well depending on the situation, one is better than the other.

If for business and commercial use, then don’t go for looks and go for that item which you can make the most use of. For example, if you plan to buy radiators to keep the workplace and office warm then you can simply buy a standard radiator which sticks onto the wall and that’s it. On the other hand, you can buy and purchase radiators that can also be used as towel warmers.

So, if you bought the standard radiator, then in future a time may come where you need to also buy a towel warmer – So you would end up paying more.

Thus, if you assess all your needs together in one instance, this can potentially save you and your business thousands in the long run.

If you buying for personal use, then you probably want the best looking one.

These days, people have made it very easy for criminals to rob them and their large multinational businesses by simply no planning and just walking in.

Like universities, any Tom, Bob and harry and walk into any building and office, steal valuable information, reagrding plans, people, staff, students, event information etc.

Especially in business, if you have a turnover of millions, one piece of paper could potentially contain information and data that cyber criminals are after and need to completely take down your business to bits with nothing remaining thereof.

This is why it is recommended to use Access control security systems. This allows you to have a very secure, tried, tested and proven to be successful, security system for your business and other commercial premises where you have hundreds and thousands of people walking through every moment.

It can be very costly however, remember one thing. It is better to spend a hundred thousand pounds and dollars on a security system and bring your profits down by 90% rather than having no security systems in place and losing everything you have and even more into the negative after some time.

You cannot but agree with me on this. Otherwise you can officially call yourself the fool.

There are many businesses out there who are under the impression that they can impress their clients with fancy furniture and fancy door knob.

Don’t take me wrong, it’s of utmost importance to impress clients as much as we can but at the same time, i won’t accept the fact that you need to spend ten times more on some fancy door knob.

Respected readers, when in business, one thing should be realised. You keep cost’s down to an absolute minimum. I would only accept the top exec office in a multi-million international business to have very expensive and prestigious door knobs as these guys need to look the part when bringing in million dollar deals.

Let me let you into a secret. Lots and lot of businesses have gone down with the speed of lightning into bankruptcy. Why? Let me tell you:

They start a businesses

Make some profit

Spend like crazy on everything business as they expect the same the folling month

Realise that profit was due to that month/time/circumstances

Start to struggle

Go negative

Sell business

Go broke

No business

this way they lose valuable time – usually a minimum of 1 year..
