Banks being abused

HBOS ,a banking and insurance firm which own Halifax and the Bank of Scotland found it’s share prices fall dramatically last week after false rumors were spread about the banks stability. The rumors mentioned somthing about the bank having similar problems to Northern Rock.

Last week the value of the HBOS shares fell by 17% however senior management , executives and staff have bought more than £6m worth of shares recently to show their confidence in the bank.

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has launced an investigation into protential stockmarmet abuse. This has come after a series of rumors about various financial instituations in the UK over the last few days. These rumours are often accompanied by short-selling.
